The take-outs of an exchange copy at most this many bytes into the earlier versions (where a file cannot be moved there: a phone’s shared storage), the first whatever its size; the rest wait for the next exchanges, a minute apart. A bulk of thousands of notes taken out on a phone would otherwise copy them all in one exchange (review of 17 October 2026, L9); the history’s cap holds them all in time (a GB, or a twentieth of the disk).
