pub struct Ask {}Expand description
A request a computer writes for a phone (decision 2 of the design): a reply’s words for a notification’s Reply, a Mark as read, or a request taken back. Nothing else can be asked: there is no field for an action, an app’s key or an address.
Fields§
§key: StringRandom, 32 hex digits: the request’s one name everywhere. A “cancel” takes back the request of the same key, from the same computer.
phone: StringThe phone that must send it: its name in the sharing.
verb: String“reply”, “read” or “cancel”.
notice: StringThe notification, by the name the phone gave it (notice).
app: StringIts app’s package.
line: StringThe newest line you had in front of you, by its id in that phone’s log.
words: StringA reply’s words, at most WORDS_MAX characters; none otherwise.
written: i64When it was written (ms, the writer’s clock), and how far the writer’s clock may run ahead of the phone’s (an upper bound, as texts measure it).
ahead: i64§again: StringThe key of the request this one sends again (Send again), if any.
writer: StringThe device that wrote it, its name in the sharing, sealed with it
(write_ask): a line read from another device’s file than its
writer’s is passed over (read_asks), so that nothing (the server, a
stray file) moves a request from one computer’s name to another’s. Any
device that holds the passphrase can still write in any name.
pad: StringSpaces that make the line’s length a multiple of PAD_STEP (padded_ask).
device: StringThe computer that wrote it: its sealed writer, found in its own file. Never written.
